Ray, I had never heard of Amsoil until the mid 90's when a dealer
near me took me under his wing and gave me the Amsoil literature to
read - man, I was hooked from then on.
What's more amazing, and this is a TRUE testament to Amsoil, is that
at about 200,000 miles the Accord's "overdrive" gear went out in the
transmission. I switched to Amsoil ATF and would you believe that the
"overdrive" returned to normal functioning within a thousand miles
and that transmission was shifting absolutely PERFECT when traded in
with 335,000+ miles on it!!!!
I use Amsoil in absolutely everything that I own, even the differential
of my electric golf cart, my generators, mowers, tractors, boat motors
[both 2 and 4 stroke], and even use Amsoil compressor oil in my
pressure washer. I HAVE YET to have an engine either burn oil or use
any oil at all for decades of use in small equipment. The man at the
lawnmower shop said he'd never seen anything like it, with a Briggs &
Stratton on one particular mower as old as mine that doesn't use oil!
Well, gotta go & get some work done around the farm. Can't wait to
fire up the Powerstroke and drive it some more!
I wanted you to know that I've driven the truck for about 130 miles a
day since I put the by-pass filter on it and changed the filters to
EaO/EaBP. I'm totally amazed that the oil on the dip-stick is still
crystal clear, unheard of before!!!!! More important, I think, is that
the oil still has that brand-new 'out-of-the-bottle' smell instead of the
usual "sooty" smell........
Changing from the 15W-40 AME to the 5W-30 HDD Amsoil made a
significant difference also. I can't believe how much smoother the
bearings in the turbo sound when it spools down after I cut the truck
off, how much smoother the engine runs, and how much my mileage
has improved!!
I now have confidence in one year/25k oil changes, or more with the
Ea filters, and this will cost significantly less $$$$ for maintenance,
especially with increased mileage.

Dear AMSOIL:
I wanted to tell you about an event that happened to my
family and I when first using AMSOIL. It was back in 1992 and
a friend introduced me to Ray DesMarais (now my direct
jobber) in Rochester, MA, and it only took Ray a minute to
turn me on to AMSOIL. I switched my brand new 1992 Subaru
over at 5,000 miles and that winter my family and I were on a
ski trip to Bretton Woods, NH located across from Mt.
Washington.
The temperature that Saturday morning was below zero while we sat in the breakfast room of Carlson's motor
lodge and Mr. Carlson explained to us that the tow-truck was stuck -- he couldn't get his engine started. And so,
we bundled up after breakfast, went outside where we found at least a foot of newly fallen snow on top of a foot
that fell on Friday and a few of us shoveled out a path to our driversside doors. There must have been at
least 8 to 10 cars, trucks, vans, etc., in the lot. Everybody ended up with dead batteries except me. I
got in, turned the key without pressing the accelerator, and the starter was whining, then turned it
off, then tried again without pumping any gas and on the second try, it started. It was very quiet at the
time and the people that were still out there came running over to see how I started my engine. I simply
pointed to my AMSOIL stickers and said that is the only reason why my engine turned over. They
were all in disbelief. I let the engine run while we packed up and off we drove to the ski area.
Even though we only took a couple of runs that day, it was much too cold no matter how well you were dressed
but, we were delighted to know that we could start the engine and forever are grateful to AMSOIL. It could have
been a circumstance of far more importance and from that time on we have been driving with confidence
knowing that AMSOIL is under the hood.
Again thank you.
Respectfully,

ANOTHER MILLION-MILE MILESTONE
Floyd Erks’ Ford Aero Star is still rolling after three quarters of a million
miles.
AMSOIL Independent Dealer Dan McKinty of Lincoln, Nebraska has a
satisfied customer who is nearing his goal of acquiring one million miles
on his vehicle.. Floyd Erks is a proud user of AMSOIL lubricants in all of
his vehicles, but his van’s long history of AMSOIL use and high mileage
really sets it apart from the crowd.
Erks owns a 1993 Ford Aero Star Minivan with a 4.0 liter engine that has
never been rebuilt. To date, the van has accumulated 731,000 miles
of service and Erks sees no reason why it won’t reach the million-
mile milestone.
Erks used AMSOIL 5W-30 motor oil for the first 25,000 miles,

then switched over to AMSOIL Series 2000 0W-30 and SDF Oil Filters and changed the oil only
once every 35,000 miles. Since he switched his van over to AMSOIL ATF he has also put
300,000 miles on the same transmission. He also regularly uses AMSOIL 75W-90
Gear Lube and Multi-Purpose Grease.
Erks says that he drives a minimum of 300 miles a day while working for
his courier service. At that rate, he may attain his goal of one million-miles
in only two or three years.

AMSOIL Products Make Believer out of
Race/Show Car Owner.
Richard Giddens finds AMSOIL an
Invaluable Asset for his Prize AMC Race Car.
About three years ago a friend told me about AMSOIL products. He explained how they would conserve fuel in
my Dodge pickup truck. At first I was skeptical. I thought this was just another product promising to work better
than anything else. After some convincing I gave in and tried AMSOIL. My Dodge pickup was a 2000 year
model with 140K miles on it. My truck typically got 19-20 MPG. That following weekend we traveled to West
Texas. I carefully calculated the mileage. . .then recalculated the mileage. I was amazed to find that my
truck actually got 22.23 MPG after switching to AMSOIL. That is an increase of 3 to 4 MPG.
I became a believer in this product. I added it to all of my vehicles including my 2002 41Ft. CAT Diesel motor
home, 1971 AMX Javelin show car, and a 1971 AMX Drag Racing muscle car as well as my wife's 2004
Chevrolet Avalanche pickup. The performance of all the vehicles improved, especially my 1971 AMX Dragster.
This car has an 800+ HP engine with a 15:1 compression ratio.
After 10 runs down the strip the cam distributor gears went out. I replaced the gears and added
standard 20W50 Castrol racing oil (not AMSOIL). The car performed at 125 MPH in the quarter mile
on the first run. This was 8 MPH slower than the typical 133 MPH I was getting with the AMSOIL
product.
On inspection of the car after this run 1 discovered that the new gears had also stripped out. Apparently the
gears had never been compatible. I replaced them once more and this time added AMSOIL. My car resumed
its outstanding performance on the track at 133 MPH in 10.38 seconds. I also believe that AMSOIL
actually preserved my car's gears for those first 10 runs and they would have stripped sooner without
AMSOIL. Now at 191K miles, my Dodge diesel pickup continues to perform well and maintains the
22 to 23 MPG.

Note: The incompatible timing gears on the distributor of the AMX Drag Car lasted 10 runs before stripping
out when lubricated by the AMSOIL Series 2000 20W-50 Racing oil. The next set of distributor timing gears
were also incompatible and only lasted one 1/4 mile pass with Castrol 70W-50 Racing oil.
Mark Chalkley is a semi-retired computer
programmer who also is a heavy equipment
operator. His knowledge of heavy equipment allows
him to frequently offer advice on TractorNet, an
informational Website for agricultural equipment users.
Chalkley often tells people about his experiences with
AMSOIL. And those experiences have been quite
remarkable.
Chalkley owns several vehicles and pieces of
equipment that have benefitted from his use of
AMSOIL products. He uses a 1993 Dodge pickup truck

with a Cummins engine to haul loads of more than 25,000 pounds. He also has a 1997 Ford
Contour and an earth mover back hoe. I use AMSOIL in everything, Chalkley said. I have never
worn out anything that has had AMSOIL in it.
He put AMSOIL Series 3000 5W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil in his 1996 Volkswagon Passat at about
10,000 miles, and put AMSOIL 75W-90 Gear Lube in the transmission shortly after. The Passat
now has over 278,000 miles on it and its still running the same gear lube. Chalkley changes his
motor oil in the Passat at 50,000 mile drain intervals. Theres no by-pass kit on it either, he said,
and Ive never had a problem. Not a one.
(Editors Note: AMSOIL recommends a drain interval for the Series 3000 5W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel
Oil that is up to two times longer than manufacturers recommendations in passenger vehicles with
diesel engines if extended drain intervals are supported by the findings of a used oil analysis
program, or six months, whichever comes first.)
Chalkley adds nearly a quart of oil every 4,500 miles, and has noticed that oil consumption hasnt
changed in the six-year-old car at all since he switched to AMSOIL. In fact, oil consumption actually
improved since that time. Its not burning any oil, he said.
1991 Buick Gets Boost from AMSOIL!
AMSOIL Turns College Student into an Oil Enthusiast.
August 19, 2003
I bought my 1991 Buick Century 3.3L V-6 used with 80,000 miles. The engine was
a "new" rebuilt engine since the original was damaged from overheating.
From 80K to 94K miles, I used Mobil 1 10W-30 and was not satisfied even though I
thought I was using "the best." I had trouble with cold starts, and I live in Florida!
When I tried to start the car, it was common that the car would not start on the
first time. It normally took two or three more attempts to get the engine started.
After the engine would start there was loud and prolonged clapping noises coming
from the engine at an idle. Putting it in drive or driving long distances usually made
that racket go away. The fuel economy was acceptable for the engine I had.
At 94,000 miles, I switched to AMSOIL 10W-30. I immediately noticed a dramatic
reduction in starting times. Since switching to AMSOIL, my engine has only failed to
start once on the first time, but one more attempt started the engine. After using
AMSOIL for about 2000 miles, the lifter noise was almost gone and has gradually
lessened even more. Fuel economy has also improved since switching to AMSOIL. I
drive about 160 miles to school twice a week and used a half tank each trip. Since
switching, I return home from both trips with about 1/8 of a tank left.
I am currently at 98,000 miles and I couldn't be happier. I am going to switch to the
AMSOIL Series 2000 0W-30 on my next oil change.
As a full-time unemployed student, I am saving money that is already in short
supply and I get a strong sense of security from AMSOIL. I realize that if my car
were to break down, it would have a dramatic impact on my education and finances.
My use of AMSOIL has dissipated those fears and I know my engine is getting the
best care possible. Through my use of AMSOIL, I hope to get many more miles of
use out of my car, thus lessening the financial burden that I will already have from
my school loans.
Sincerely,
Jason F.

UPDATE - April 24, 2004
I just realized looking at my maintenance log that I've reached the 1 year mark and
15,000 miles of use on the AMSOIL 10W-30. There has been no noticeable oil loss
at all during this period, and I'm willing to bet most of my minute oil loss came from
simply checking the dipstick. The lifter noise that I used to have with the Mobil 1
continues to be non-existent. Since switching to AMSOIL, I completely forgot that I
ever had cold start problems until I started writing this.
Now that my year of use is up, I am switching to the AMSOIL Series 2000 0W-30,
but considering my great experience with the 10W-30, I can't imagine what the
0W-30 will have in store for me. I am by no means an expert in auto mechanics but
AMSOIL has made me an oil enthusiast!
Sincerely,
Jason F.

Owner/Operator Experiences Significant Fuel Savings with AMSOIL
Dear AMSOIL:
I have been using AMSOIL
Synthetic Diesel Engine Oil
and the AMSOIL Dual-Gard
By-Pass Filtration System,
along with used oil analysis,
for nearly three years. My
1997 Mack CH613 had
176,000 miles on it when
I began using AMSOIL
motor oil and the Dual-Gard
System. At the time I bought
this truck, the company I am
leased to bought a number of
identical trucks for their fleet. All of these trucks operate in much the same
way, including operating environment, type of haul, etc. These trucks also
have a dash mounted digital display of the lifetime average fuel economy.
At this time my trucks average is 6.78 MPG, and the company trucks range
from 5.8 to 6.2 MPG. The difference between 6.78 and a fleet average of 6
MPG is over 11 percent. That is significant savings, and the major difference
here is I use AMSOIL and the company trucks use conventional oil!
Both the full flow and by-pass filters are changed regularly, and at each
20,000 mile interval, an oil sample is taken to monitor the oils condition.
Currently, I have 412,000 miles on this truck, the last 236,000 without an
oil change. The oil analysis from Oil Analyzers, Inc. reports the oil is suitable
for continued use and the engine runs great.

AMSOIL Gives Life to a Sweet Old Cadillac
Making a skeptic into a believer.
Dear AMSOIL,
AMSOIL Gives Life to a Sweet Old Cadillac
Making a skeptic into a believer.
Dear AMSOIL,
I thought you might appreciate hearing my AMSOIL story.
When the opportunity arose last year to purchase my mother-in-law's 1987
Cadillac DeVille, I jumped at the chance. A true low mileage survivor, it was in
near pristine condition. I was proudly showing it off to a mechanic friend when
he said, "Uh-oh, you bought an HT-4100? Good luck buddy."
After much research I understood what he meant. The HT-4100 was rumored
to be one of the most troublesome engines Cadillac ever built. The problems
are numerous: an aluminum block with cast iron heads that expand and
contract at different rates causing premature head and intake gasket failure,
coolant loss into the oil, and finally main and rod bearing failure. They also
have a heavily loaded distributor gear, weak timing gears, and sludging
issues.
My first thought was, if ever an engine needed AMSOIL, it's this one. I first
heard about AMSOIL at the old Brohman Dragway in the late 1970s from a
fellow racer who swore by it. For the past 10 years, I've used various
synthetic oils with favorable results, but never AMSOIL. Then I talked with
Dave Mann, the AMSOIL Dealer in my home town, and told him my story.
Having spent 19 years as a lubrication specialist with Ford, Dave knows his
stuff. He made several recommendations, and shared with me his excellent
e-book on motor oils.
I also asked around at the Cadillac owners group I belong to, and almost
every one of them said, "Don't buy AMSOIL! It's too expensive and won't do
you any good. You need this or that oil with this or that additive," and so on.
So who was I to believe?
Having spent over 25 years in
advertising and marketing, I have
a strong skepticism for extravagant
claims made by manufacturers.
Usually, when you hear impressive
adjectives like "advanced" and
"superior," someone just wants
your money or your vote (or both).
So I read the science; from AMSOIL
and from several independent
studies. I came to the conclusion that it really is an excellent product. It also
intrigued me that one of the primary sales points made by AMSOIL is to
convince you to buy LESS of their product. That kind of marketing is contrary
to anything I've experienced, and elevates AMSOIL's credibility level
exponentially.
I switched the Cadillac over to AMSOIL 5W-30 (ASL) last fall, then put in
AMSOIL 10W-30 (ATM) this spring (even though it's not a turbo, I like the
extra wear protection offered by this formula). Rather than letting the oil go a
full year, I change it every six months, during which time it accumulates about
6,000 miles. My dad was an auto mechanic and taught the 3,000-mile oil
change rule like it was the 11th commandment - that kind of conditioning is
hard to overcome. With this frequency, I still spend less money than if I
changed the oil on a three-month/3,000-mile schedule. I use the money I
save to have drain samples tested by an independent lab each time.
The Deville now has 50,000 miles and runs like a fine Swiss watch. I have not
had a single problem with the 'troublesome' HT-4100 engine. It runs roughly
10 degrees cooler than with regular oil, and my gas mileage has increased by
10%. It has become my mission to get 200,000 miles from this car. With
AMSOIL, I might just make it.
As an addendum, I also recently switched my wife's 2003 Oldsmobile
Silhouette minivan to AMSOIL. Since we've owned it, this car has had a lifter
clatter for the first 10 seconds on cold starts. Literally, on the first start after
putting in AMSOIL, the clatter was gone.
Thanks AMSOIL. By making a superb product that truly does what you say it
will do, you've given new life to a sweet old Cadillac, and made a believer out
of this devout skeptic.
